Goslar At its site in Selb, Germany, Bayer
MaterialScience subsidiary H.C. Starck has commissioned a pilot
plant for the industrial production of solid oxide fuel cells
(SOFCs), which generate heat as well as electricity. SOFC-based
energy systems are capable of converting a variety of fuels,
such as diesel, gasoline, hydrogen, methane or biogas, into
electricity and heat by a process that is efficient, environmentally
friendly and silent.
